Statutes

Objectives:

The association has three objectives:

  • To encourage and where possible assist in the creation of parliamentary offices
    for science in developing countries
  • To identify areas in which parliamentary offices for science can pool resources
  • To form a network of parliamentary offices for science in order to foster mutual
    development
  • Stages of development:

    Three phases are envisaged for the development of the
    association

  • Development stage: activities will aim to fulfil the first objective
  • Stable stage: activities will aim to fulfil the second and third objectives
  • Intermediate stage: activities will be evenly divided between the aforementioned stages
  • Provisional governance:

    The association is governed by the following provisional regulations
    1) Members are responsible for the development of the association and its activities
    according to tasks fixed by consent between the member and the association
    2) New members are admitted by a majority vote of all members upon having agreed
    terms of the task(s) assigned to the new member.
    3) The use of funds received through donations must be approved by a majority vote
    of all members.
    4) Amendments to the provisional governance, in the form of the statutes of the
    Society must be approved by a majority vote of all members.
    5) For representative purposes, David Wahl and Alexis Vlandas temporarily occupy
    the positions of President and Treasurer respectively.
